Liveblog: Barack Obama in Colorado Springs

Wed Jul 02, 2008 at 10:36:55 AM PDT

We're liveblogging Barack Obama's policy speech on national service in Colorado Springs -- smack in the backyard of James Dobson and Focus on the Family who tried to pick a fight with the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee last week.

NMDP Primary Party LiveBlog / WebCast w/ NM Primary Updates!

Tue Jun 03, 2008 at 07:33:03 PM PDT

While we realize there's a contentious presidential primary going on at the moment, the Tom Udall for Senate campaign [Disclaimer: I work for the Tom Udall for Senate campaign] would like to bring you live coverage of the Democratic primary watching party in New Mexico tonight.  As many of you know, the Senate and House primaries for New Mexico took place today.

Tom Udall is running uncontested for the Democratic nomination for the Senate.  The Republicans running for nomination are Heather Wilson and Steve Pearce.  We'll be doing our best to keep you updated on the results of that race as well as the congressional primaries as they become available.

[6:09 AM] We're here early at the New Mexico Democratic Party's primary election watching party in Albuquerque, where people are slowly beginning to stream in. Tom will be speaking later on, and we'll have live video up as soon as the festivities and speeches begin. Stay tuned for updates from the floor, including primary results that will (possibly) be faster than can be found at the Secretary of State's website.

"I've Switched to Fox"

Sat May 31, 2008 at 01:14:50 PM PDT

I know slinkerwink (who I had the privilege of meeting this morning) posted a diary about her experiences inside the meeting, but I saw that it had 700 comments already so I figured I'd post my own account.

I'm here with my mom and fellow Kossack NJ Boomer, who came down from New Jersey to be a part of history.

There are plenty of diaries blogging the proceedings of the meeting, so I am going to focus on our experience behind the scenes.

Countdown live blogging: Olbermann interview with McClellan

Thu May 29, 2008 at 05:06:57 PM PDT

First off: McClellan admits that Libby and Rove lied to him about their involvement in the Plame leak.

Second, obviously, 9/11 was used as a political tool to turn the administration into a permanent political campaign, and to achieve goals that they had wanted before 9/11. And Bush asked Rumsfeld to update his plans for an Iraq war in *November 2001*.

Olbermann describes McClellan's work as at times almost poetic: he claims Bush had "a philosophy of coercive democracy," and McClellan admits that said coercion has harmed the image of the U.S.

* * *

Update: First time on the recommended list. Thank you, everyone. :)

Also, for those of you who missed it the first time around--and it just ended a moment ago--you'll get a second chance to see it at 10 PM. I strongly suspect it will also find its way to the Countdown web site in the near future.

ID-Sen: LIVE online video town hall HERE! Recommend!

Thu May 22, 2008 at 10:48:56 AM PDT

Today, starting at 12pm MT, I'll be holding a live online town hall meeting -- here at Daily Kos, at my own campaign website, and across the internet.  Today's online town hall is the first of its kind here in Idaho, and I'm really looking forward to it.

UPDATE:  Thanks to everybody who joined us for today's online town hall meeting!  I really enjoyed our dialogue and look forward to doing more of these as the campaign continues -- and continue doing them after I'm in office.

If you didn't get a chance to join us live, you can watch a recording of today's town hall below the flip.  Thanks again to everyone who participated -- and if you live in Idaho, please remember to vote in Tuesday's primary!

ID-Sen: LaRocco liveblogging TODAY on senateguru.com, 2 pm eastern

Wed May 21, 2008 at 11:00:10 AM PDT

First, if senateguru.com isn't part of your daily blog diet, it should be.

Second, you might think that Idaho is just "too red" to be in play this cycle.  But this is an open seat (currently held by Larry "wide stance" Craig), and the Democrat, Larry LaRocco, has succeeded in Idaho electoral politics before, representing ID-01 (half the state) for two terms.  He's also a veteran and a businessman, a lot of instate connections and name recognition, and a vigorous campaigning style to the race.  Yes, it's a long shot.  But it's my upset pick for the cycle.

So come on over to senateguru.com today at 2 eastern and talk to the man.  (If you can, kick some money his way while you're at it).

peace,
lilnev

ID-Sen: Larry LaRocco to Liveblog on Senate Guru This Wednesday

Mon May 19, 2008 at 10:14:38 AM PDT

This Wednesday, Senate Guru will host its first liveblog session with a candidate for Senate in 2008: none other than former Idaho Congressman Larry LaRocco.

The liveblog session will take place at Senate Guru this Wednesday, May 21, at 2pm Eastern, 1pm Central, Noon Mountain, 11am Pacific.

LaRocco provides Democrats with our best chance to win a Senate seat in Idaho in many years.  Through his "Working for the Senate" effort, he has demonstrated tremendous hustle on the grassroots front.

Liveblog: Large Crowd for Barack Obama in Indianapolis

Mon May 05, 2008 at 06:11:13 PM PDT

Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to dkos an I've never considered myself the diary type of person. I usually only lurk and I make comments rarely. I decided to put up this diary tonight because I didn't see another one about the rally about to be shown on CSPAN tonight. I know this probably doesn't count as a real diary and I may never post another one but here goes nothing...

How To Liveblog: Morans Need Not Apply

Sat May 03, 2008 at 02:04:54 PM PDT

Howdy, friends.  This diary might get zilch traffic because I didn't put anything sexy in the title.  Well, don't come crying to me when you want to liveblog the next Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs or John Gibson interview with Ann Coulter.

There's a lot of folks here who have been posting great Liveblogs or have volunteered to continue one, but have gotten concerned about logistics.  I am not the uber-veteran here, but have done enough to learn from the experts like donnamarie.  If you think you want to Liveblog something in the future -- save this diary somewhere for reference.

Liveblogging Hillary on Countdown: Will Keith Comment On Osama Ad?

Mon Apr 21, 2008 at 04:41:12 PM PDT

Hillary makes an unprecedented appearance on Countdown with Keith Olbermann, at 5pm and 7pm PT on MSNBC.

Let's liveblog it here.  Comments, questions, snark, and wisdom welcomed.

Will Keith decry Hillary's use of fear in today's TV ad?

Keith's only Special Comment against a Democratic presidential candidate came against Hillary last month, wherein he decried her Rovian campaign tactics of fear, smear, and division.  Video below the fold.

UPDATED: Liveblogging ABC's This Week - Tomorrow on OpenLeft.com

Sat Apr 19, 2008 at 07:14:43 PM PDT

Hey folks - this is Adam Green with MoveOn. I wanted to let you know that the good folks at OpenLeft.com have opened up their front page this Sunday morning from 10am to 11am EST for me to liveblog ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos.

I wanted to invite you to join me there for active discussion, and to suggest in the comments below any thoughts you have on things to look for. Be they big issues or small nuances...or questions you think should be asked to McCain...I'm all ears.

As many of you probably know, MoveOn launched a petition this week to ABC and other networks in reaction to this week's travesty of a debate on ABC. If you haven't seen it yet, it says:

"Debate moderators abuse the public trust every time they ask trivial questions about gaffes and 'gotchas' that only political insiders care about. Enough with the distractions--ABC and other networks must focus on issues that affect people's daily lives."

There was a ton of energy behind this media critique. (More below.)

Richard Carter (NE-02) Weekly Liveblog

Sun Apr 13, 2008 at 04:25:57 PM PDT

We just came from an all candidate forum, which went really well. I talked about getting our troops out of Iraq, balancing our budget, and fixing our healthcare and educational systems.

There are only 30 days until the primary, we have another debate on Tuesday, and several town halls this week, so I will have many more chances soon to talk to the people of my district about the important issues that are facing us.

This week, the floor is open for questions on any topic, and of course, donations are always appreciated.

Last thing before we get to the liveblog, I wanted to announce how proud I was to earn the endorsement of DailyKos's own Eternal Hope, who writes the excellent Obama Evening News Roundup diary series.

Thanks for coming today, and thank you for your continued support!

Olympic Torch protests in SF today (link to LiveBlog elsewhere).

Wed Apr 09, 2008 at 02:25:19 PM PDT

It looks like the people of San Francisco are preparing for a game of "Capture the Torch".  Pro-China protesters have been bussed in;  pro-Tibet protesters have been active.

This looks like an event that deserves a LiveBlog.

And so it has one.

Please go there and recommend.
